Evolution

Another great game we recently added to our collection.

I found this game while searching through the top board games. Kickstarter popped up and I started looking through those games. It’s not the easiest to find family friendly games that don’t include Monopoly and Life. We have grown to love a lot of European games like Carcassone and Settlers of Catan.

Evolution is a game that is different every time. Every game you are creating different animals evolving them as needed to have the best attributes. You can either have herbivore(s) or carnivore(s). The goal of the game is to beef up your creatures and gain the most food tokens.

The kids have really enjoyed playing this game. They can let their imaginations run wild. It’s never boring because they create a different creature each time. I bet it would be fun for them to create pictures of their creatures after a game. Maybe we will do that for Art soon.

So what’s the homeschool aspect? It teaches the kids about how animals evolve in order to have the best attributes to survive. That’s why we have animals that have gone extinct and animals that have evolved to adapt to their environment. There is also a lot of strategy and planning. Great for science as well as Math.
